Pardes main ek Desi

I.N.D.I.A. - The five letters

When I used to walk on the streets of chennai, I used to look at the sky and admire the aircrafts taking off and landing to the Meenabakam air terminal and I used to tell myself One Day, One Dayi will also take off. Take off and fly away from the relations friends noise traffic cricket dirty politics Corruption Caste/Religious Misunderstandings and everything. I thought i will cut myself away from all the strings which kept myself attached to the arena. The arena where i just had to dance to the music and the strings made sure that i always made the right moves.

Now the same 5 letters are my identity .

Now I "know" that I would prefer being a puppet than being Pardes Main Ek Desi

Back to work

Back to work

Waiting at the Mexico City Airport for the Bus to Puebla. Puebla, that is where i work for my livelihood. I work in a small car making company in Puebla which is called Volkswagen, The company is so small that they have a small bank opened for their employees which is head quartered in Germany. They are saying that they are the largest automobile company in the world. But i didn't believe them. Not even after seeing thousands of cars parked in the employee parking. You tell me if they have bought the worlds most expensive banking software for handling the payrolls and loans of the employees then does it make them one of the most influential companies in the world. No i don't think so.

Ok OK Bandas Apart.

Loads of work are waiting for me in the office. Once Ramu goes back to India this weekend i will be made to sit Popocatepetl volcano . The first week was almost fun in the office. Roaming around seeing people, Eating Mexican food and enjoying life. The poor network connection ensured that we always had an excuse for our lethargy.

Apart from downloading 7 movies in just 4 days from the office, I also watched couple of movies in the cable TV they provide in the hotel. If I had spent lesser time in the gym and the jacuzzi then i would have got more time to see the movies which i downloaded. Thanks to Papa Roach.

Now that Ramadan has started.. I think this will be the most toughest Ramadan for me. I think this is the right time to get more organizized.

After a series of Negative and Positive testing i have found out that the network in the office was getting ****** up due my downloads only. So i am temporarily stopping my downloads. After all why should i **** up the office network when i can get a 40 kb/s download speeds at the hotel room itself.

Something which is not at all related to the post : The one thing i most liked after coming here to Mexico is the view of the volcano from my Hotel room Window in the morning. It is nothing less than breath taking.

The Independence Day

What am i thinking about?

I am not thinking bout no nothing my mind is completely blank and exhausted after the days outing and the Movie Matrix is playing in TNT. Combining to be the most devastating mind blockers in the whole of Mexico city.

I am at the Eurostar suites in Zona Rosa which is in the heart of the Mexico city. Today is the independence day of Mexico. I dont know from who they got freedom or who all faught for it or who all died for it. All i know is today is the 197th independence day celebration of Mexico. Tonight The President of mexico Mr Felipe de Jesus CALDERON Hinojosa is going to give his Independence day speach in Zocalo. And i am told that the whole city is going to turn up at the zocalo for the celebrations.

Dodge this. puff down goes the agent.

Where were we yeah the indpendence day. THe Independce day here is celebrated in the night. The Presidents speach is in the night and then starts the do whatever you want and get away with it night. Yes my friend today there are no rules, no thing is bared, you can do whatever you want and nobody is going to catch you. It is going to be a party night on the streets and that makes the city the most dangerous place to live for us three indians ( Me, Papa Roach and Ramu). So we decided to go to the Zocalo where president is giving presidential Message or speach whatever they call it, in the morning itself and come back to the Zona Rosa, the most happening place in the whole of Latin America. If you ask me i will tell Zona Rosa is the most beautiful place i have ever seen in my life.

The night in Zona Rosa are very lively. Lovers, Gays, Lesbians the Party Animals, The people dressed like wampires, Road side singers, and what else. We can get to see the Human creatures in all sizes and shapes. Now the time is 7:25 in the evening and the party may start any minute from now. Zona Rosa is going to stay awake for the whole night as it does in the every other weekend of the year.

As decided Papa Roach Called me exactly at 7:30 and we are going out to the streets of Zona Rosa to celebrate the Mexican Independence day.

AdiĆ³s Amigos

Frankfurt Airport

There is this girl sitting beside me weeping badly. She is reading some book .She is reading "The Queen of the South" and cant stop weeping. There is a lady sitting in front of me, she is from the chineese origin, she is very busy reading some document she is having and is making note of things she was reading. On her left is an indian girl tired from yesterday's flight and sleepy. She is making calls from her mobile which makes her an experienced candidate it seems. I can see lots of indians are all around the Terminal. I can also see people wearing Hijab and Pardah and also the white guys. I am here in the B47 Gate of the Frankfurt Departure terminal, waiting for my Flight to Mexico city. Now time is 10:10. My Flight is only expected by 13:30. It is not even charted yet. So am enjoying the Music i had copied to my laptop the last minute to my flight and also thanks to rajiv for the Headphone he bought me (Though i had asked him to buy a Headphone with mike he ended up buying an Ipod Headset).

The flight was very comfortable though i felt some pressure while landing and at takeoff. There was an indian Family on my left and a Stupid Srilankan kind of looking boy on my right. I was like sitting between the both extremes when it comes to Experience in flying. As this was my first flight i had to learn lot of things. Also i had to learn without help so i was very observant through out the flight. The Srilankan Boy boosted my confidence as he was relying on me and i was like his guardian angel showing him how to handle things. He alwasys waited for me and did all the things the way i did. Thanks to the indian family and my short learning curve I WAS ALMOST PERFECT.

In the meanwhile one hot lady has come and sat just opposite to me. She is not very good looking but she has presented herself pretty well. I said to myself HO HO HO Welcome to Germany.

I am not thinking anything about the things i have left behind back in India. I had got a wonderful sendoff from my friends and colleagues. My Phone kept ringing till the very last minute for boarding the flight. Which reminds of my mobile phone which was malfunctioning. I had to attend the call in the very second i get it. what a time to have a faulty mobile. I was telling myself oh what a perfect day and PUFF There it come Mobile is acting wiered. But still I didnt let the bloody Gadget to fidget with my Nerves. Everything else was perfect. The security checks, Emigration, Check in and all the other creepy Airport stuff.

In the meanwhile There is this Indian Boy who is along with his brother roller skating all over the terminal.

And there they are the crazy european youth. Funny caps, jeans, bags, Hairstyle, attitude. They are calm but ready to explode though.

There is this slight headache i am expriencing now. Is it the temprature change or is it the music that is playing in my head "Thank you for Loving me". I have all the medicines in the world with me but i cant take any cos i dont get water here. "Hello Mr Borat this is not India".I have to exchange the dollars i am having with Euros and then only i can buy anything over here. So what I will do is I'll calmly sit back and wait for my flight, and take the medicine in the flight only. Which reminds me of my flight which is ought to take off from here by 13:30. It is only 11:00 now I have amble time to board the flight.

For now I have just two choices no no I have three choices. One i can sit here and write some more crap into this or I can shut the system down and take a walk through the Airport or I can Simply shutdown the system and Sleep for some time which wouldnt be a bad Idea as I have to start getting used to the Time difference thing.

I dont know what i am going to decide on my choices but one thing i am sure of is that my Laptop is running down on the power supply and the Battery is almost empty. So opting to do the smartest thing i will shut down the system and then revise my options to the changed circumstances.

Dhamal Hain ji

My Rendezvous with the First date was not a failure. You hardly get time to think about what is happening on the screen, So you don't have to be logical.

All you have to do is forget your Movie Critic Ego, Sit back and take the ride and just do the Dhamaal.

This is the best comedy of the year.

It will be like you are seeing a preview of all the comedy you have ever seen in your life.
But who cares if the director is a copy cat.

Dhamaal is a perfect entertainer for the family viewers and the best children's movie after Mr India.

Note: First date is a Premier show in Satyam Cinema Chennai, In which you never know for which movie you came for and you will know the Title of the movie only when they show it on the screen.

I wanted it to be you... I wanted it to be you so BADLY

Kathleen Kelly: Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life. Well, not small, but valuable. And sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around? I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void.

----------------------

Joe Fox: Sometimes I wonder...
Kathleen Kelly: What?
[they stop]
Joe Fox: If I hadn't been FoxBooks and you hadn't been the Shop Around the Corner... and you and I had, just you know, met... Yeah. I would have asked for your phone number and I wouldn't have been able to wait 24 hours before calling and asking, "How about coffee, drinks, dinner, a movie, for as long as we both shall live?"
Kathleen Kelly: Joe.
Joe Fox: And you and I would have never been at war. And the only things we would've fought about would be what video to rent on Saturday night.
Kathleen Kelly: Well, who fights about that?
Joe Fox: Well, some people. Not us.
Kathleen Kelly: We would never.
Joe Fox: ...if only.
Kathleen Kelly: I should go.
Joe Fox: Well let me ask you something. How can you forgive this guy for standing you up and not forgive me for this tiny little thing like putting you out of business.
[Kathleen shakes her head no]
Joe Fox: Oh how I wish you would.
Kathleen Kelly: I really have to go.
Joe Fox: Yeah, well, you don't wanna be late.

---------

Kevin: I always take a relationship to the next level. If that works out, I take it to the next level after that, until I finally reach that level when it becomes absolutely necessary for me to leave.

------------

Joe Fox: Who cares about Kathleen Kelly?
Kevin: Well... if you don't like Kathleen Kelly, I can tell you right now... you're not going to like this girl.
Joe Fox: Why?
Kevin: Because it *is* Kathleen Kelly.

------------

Kathleen Kelly: What will NY152 say today I wonder. I turn on my computer. I wait impatiently as it connects. I go online, and my breath catches in my chest until I hear three little words: You've got mail. I hear nothing. Not even a sound on the streets of New York, just the beating of my own heart. I have mail. From you.

------------------

When was the Last time I wanted to be inside a movie? I can see this movie a few more hundred times and still enjoy it the same way i loved it the first time.

You've Got Mail(1998)  is the one movie you never want to miss out from your DVD collection.
